This is Malachi and I've had hime for almost 2 weeks and I realized that he sleeps a ton! He sleeps perfectly fine during the night and during the day he still sleeps like if hasn't slept in a long time.
His humidity is always around 70-80 and his temp is around 70-80 too.
I mist his cage every so often and I do know that he eats and drinks because of the droppings he leaves behind.
During the night I'll take him out of the cage and I'll have him walk on my hands for a while and then he'll go back to sleeping again.
I need help because im worried that is sleeping may be an issue.
(He also has been taken to the vet before and they say that everything is perfectly fine)

Hi there welcome to the forum. Can you please take a picture of your enclosure lights down so we can see everything?

You do not want to take them out at night. This is when they should be tucked in for the night. Are you leaving your lights on at night or providing 12 hours in total darkness?

The baby should not sleep during the day at all.

Welcome to the forum!
Why are you waking him up to play with him in the middle of the night? They're supposed to be sleeping. No wonder he's sleeping during the day. Chances are you're going to end up with a sick chameleon if you keep it up.

thats his cage and light
I always turn off the lights during the night so he can sleep in darkness.
And when I take him out of his cage it'll be around 5 or 6 pm because around that time he moves a bit to eat and drink and then from there on out I dont take him out anymore.

So unfortunately the enclosure is not set up properly for the baby to thrive. What type of Light bulb are you using?

What time do you put his lights out?
You only have one light on the cage...what kind is it? He needs UVB...lights on on for 12 hours and off for 12. Is the room you keep him in light when his lights are off?

Its the Day Blue 25w Mini Halogen Bulb. But I also bought a different lighting kit, which is called the Tropical UVB and Heat Lighting Kit and I wanted to know id that one will be better for him

No, he's awake
He'll be sleeping throughout the day but around 5 he'll be moving around and I'll sometimes take him out (other times I leave him a lone) and when I put him back in I'll turn off the light because then he's getting comfortable to sleep

He needs UVB light during the day...and it's recommended that you use a regular household incndescent bulb for a basking light when it's needed...when the temperature is too low during the day or the chameleon is a few months old.

Please answer the questions in his thread...and please be specific about lights and supplements and temperature...

He needs a t5 HO 5% OR 6% linear uvb bulb and the hood hes going to need real plants and some more sticks to climb on im sorry that you had the wrong information it happens to a lot of member but if these things aren't correct I'm sorry to say he probably won't make it

Baby needs the enclosure to be set up properly with the correct UVB lighting. Handling them at this age is not recommended as it causes a lot of stress.

Here is a great husbandry program you can read through that will tell you exactly how the enclosure needs to be set up. Without changes being done very quickly baby will get sicker and die. The correct UVB lighting needs to be the priority right now.

I have a separate lamp that has a 13w fluorescent and a 60w daylight blue lamp, do you think that would be better?
It has the uvb but not in the amounts you need in the enclosure. You want to order a T5HO fixture and a 5.0 UVB bulb. or see if one of your local stores has one. typically they carry T8 fixtures and if you did that you would need a 10.0 bulb for it.
