About a week ago my adult Veiled, Oscar -who is around 4 years old- suddenly started falling out of the branches in his breezeway cage. Since then when he crawls he “drags” his back legs- and he seems to be very off balance - I have found him several times laying on his side not moving.
His grip is good in his front but weak in the back legs and his tail just hangs- he doesn’t attempt to curl or wrap it around anything.
I also noticed “bumps” under the skin on his right elbow and on his jaw.
I took him to the vet who diagnosed MBD- which I thought was odd as the symptoms made me think gout- I have given him the prescribed medication and allowed the vet to give him fluids under the skin - but still no improvement, and now I have been having to force him to drink and he won’t eat.
He has always been healthy - I always change his bulbs, dust his crickets and mist his cage. He has a follow up appointment at the vet, but in the meantime I don’t want to make what’s happening worse.
