Need help for Oscar :(

About a week ago my adult Veiled, Oscar -who is around 4 years old- suddenly started falling out of the branches in his breezeway cage. Since then when he crawls he “drags” his back legs- and he seems to be very off balance - I have found him several times laying on his side not moving.
His grip is good in his front but weak in the back legs and his tail just hangs- he doesn’t attempt to curl or wrap it around anything.
I also noticed “bumps” under the skin on his right elbow and on his jaw.

I took him to the vet who diagnosed MBD- which I thought was odd as the symptoms made me think gout- I have given him the prescribed medication and allowed the vet to give him fluids under the skin - but still no improvement, and now I have been having to force him to drink and he won’t eat.

He has always been healthy - I always change his bulbs, dust his crickets and mist his cage. He has a follow up appointment at the vet, but in the meantime I don’t want to make what’s happening worse.

Dang his eyes look very bad aswell. I don’t know much about veiled so hopefully someone with more experience tags along.

I'm sorry to hear this. My 2 year old veiled who was a rescue and lived with gout for most of his life, recently passed away. He started showing similar symptoms to Oscar. I would turn the cage sideways to prevent him from falling so high and to accommodate him in his current state. If he is not eating and drinking, obviously it is not a good sign and it might be his body shutting down. Meanwhile, try to make him as comfortable as possible in what may be his last days. I hope he can pull through, but sometimes there is a harsh reality we must accept with our beloved chameleons.

It pains me to see him looking like that. I really hope you figure out what's going on and he gets better.

I have him on a towel at the bottom of his cage, he isn’t even trying to climb now :(

I don’t want him to suffer and I don’t want to lose him... hard choices coming

Good luck. I'm wondering if he fell at some point and broke bones in his back, which would cause the dragging of the back limbs. I'll be thinking of you as you face some hard decisions.
