Please, no bias ok..
honest opinion only please :)

Howdy,

No problems with HerpMist. I just took delivery of a pump and nozzle tips to upgrade a DIY mist setup at the local reptile store this weekend. The pump is the same as Pro-Products' and MistKing's standard high quality pump. I bought the pump that I use on my own system from Pro-Products a couple of years ago before HerpMist existed. Jason will help you sort-out any questions you have about what to buy and how to set it up. The site appears to be up and running enough to view and buy the products, especially by clicking on the Shopping Cart at http://herpmist.com/cart/. Shop with confidence.

P.S. Jason sells a mounting kit that nicely uses a bulkhead fitting and piece of acrylic to mount the nozzle through the screen top. I've always been a little too "anal" to cut a slit in my enclosure screen, so I just mount my nozzles above the screen and allow the spray to mist through the screen. This method also produces lots of "raindrops" that fall away from the screen where the mist partially condenses into droplets. One of my screen enclosures is made-up of the optional, slightly larger 1/8" x 1/8" hole diameter screen from www.cages.net whereas my other enclosures are the typical 1/16" x1/16" screen sold by most other enclosure sources. Obviously, the larger screen holes pass the mist, more undisturbed, through the screen than the smaller holed screen.

Hello..
I've just bought one system on Thursday.
We'll see what happened.
I'll tell you my opinion later when i get the stuff :)

Mine is a very good.
I have mine set on 4 times a day gor 15 seconds

What type of timer are you using that allows you to set it for 15 seconds? Are you referring to this actual misting system or something like a habba mist? I would like to find a nice, reliable timer that will do a 30 second mist on my system.

Me, too. I found that they don't exist, so I'm going to make my own. :) The main problem I'm having is the user interface. However, if you want something hardcoded, well, that would be incredibly easy to do once I have a bit of spare time.

...and I'll not respond to the original question since I am a bit biased. :)

Yes in my opinion it is a very well made pump and the fittings/nozzles are quality made.

The owner is legit and very nice to work with. This is not a fly-by-night operation. He takes pride in his product.

I bought a system and have been very happy with it.

(Give the website another try, I think it is working fine now . . .)

Please let me know when you have one ready that isn't hardcoded. I would like to buy one for my leaf chameleon enclosures. I currently have a work around, and it works.. sort of. The problem with a hardcoded one is that I wouldn't be able to adjust the misting time and schedule when weather/humidity changes make that necessary.

Thanks,

Heika
