Poor Darwin's right eye is concerning me, it looks to me like some shed around the eye is not sloughing off, i can tell this is bothering him, he is sitting in his bright colors and hanging out where he sleeps. I have been soaking and increasing the humidity, it looks like he cant close his eye all the way. I have been soaking daily and it looks like it softens up to where he can blink again. As of today I have him in the shower soaking and i plan on taking a que tip and gently rub the eye where the skin looks white in hopes that it will come off. I feel confident that i can do this part, I am vetren tech/scribe for ophthalmology, so i know how to handle eyes. However i want a vet specialist to look at him regardless of the outcome tonight. Ill be damned if he dies in my hands. Luckily he has been eating well and poop looks healthy. Poor guy this is stressing me out. Thank you in advance for any good leads on vets I really and truly appreciate it.

I’m very sorry to hear about little Darwin. Here’s a list of reptile vets in TX. Call and see if any of them have chameleon experience. I’ll also give you the name of some excellent eye drops that you can ask the vet for.

Ask your vet for the Tobramycin eye drops and to the left is a recommend eye wash to use along with the Tobramycin.

Ok good to know I can get tobamaycin 0.3% eye drops at my clinic, i was apprehensive on percentage, the last thing I want to do is give him toxicity from giving him to strong of a drop. We give the same drops to patients after cataract surgery if they are sensitive to ofloxacin I can get my hands on eye drops preservative free and i have eye wash.
Thank you for the quick response Jannb.

quick update, I was able to get the skin off in the shower, his eye looks a lot better, however I do not feel like i am out of the woods just yet. After an hour or so from him drying after his shower, ill be checking again, if the skin still looks hazy I know have more than a shedding issue going on. To the vet tomorrow i go.
