Hey all, just thought I would share my new 4 month old male ambilobe (lobo 2 baby from kaleidoscope chameleons) that came yesterday. He is sooo energetic and loves his new home so far. I have him in an 18x18x36 enclosure with a hibiscus plant as well as fake vines. He has the reptisun 5.0 florescent (not compact) with a plant light on top. Getting his mistking tommorrow from ChamEO!. How many days until he is back eating to what people suggest (12-15 small crickets? So far I've only been able to get him to eat 7 or so.

Love the forum and look forward to your replies!

I have a lobo 1. It took him around a week to get work up to normal eating schedule. & it also depends on how small your crickets are. He will find his own normal. Mine is about 6 months. He is showing all sort of colors. Also kaleidoscope chameleons respond to e-mail quickly and like getting picture updates :)

So far he has been the perfect chameleon, not overly 'friendly' but not a pain to get out of his cage, only hissed at me once so far & eats pretty much anything I get him.

Good Luck!

Your baby is a cutie!!!

It could take a little time for him to get comfortable, if he is eating 7 crickets instead of 12-15 I wouldn't worry. I bet within 2 weeks he will be pigging out ;)

Congratulations on your new chameleon! Welcome to the forum!

I second that, I also recently bought a 3 month old ambilobe. On day that I brought him home he was actually chasing dubias and mantids, then next couple of days he was not interested in food, may be ate 6 to 7 crickets. Now he is a lot better. He eats a lot. In fact in the two weeks I had he he grew a lot. Just about to start shedding.

if the cham has just shed then that shows he is growing, some of my chams wont shed for awhile, then they all shed together  strange
