I alas got my baby cham! Though, unfortunately I do have a concern. He's pretty little, three to four months, and healthy looking, aside from the very end of his tail. For as long as I've had him, and maybe a bit before that, he's had this bit of shed caught on the very end of his tail, and it isn't looking good. He's a new reptile, and I don't want to stress him out more than neccesary, but I did take him out this morning (which he was very displeased with) and tried to soak his tail to loosen the constricting shed. Of course he was out of there in under three seconds flat, and only one little meager bit of the dead skin came off. I'm not sure what to do now though, because he doesn't enjoy being handled, and he isn't cooperative when it comes to being soaked.
The reason this is such a concern is because the dead skin appears to be constricting the end bit of the tail in certain spots, and I know that this can cause the cham to lose the end of the tail.
Nothing else is off about him though, and he eats, drinks, and poops regularly. Sometimes he'll even let me stroke his side on a good day.

Chameleon Info:
- Your Chameleon - Veiled, Male, About 3-4 months old, owned him about a week
- Handling - Haven't tried it till today. He doesn't come out willingly.
- Feeding - I feed him dusted crickets, mealworms, and ficus, which he has a bit of in his cage. The crickets are gutloaded with an assortment of fruits and veggetables. (mango, strawberries, lettuce, apples, etc) Feed him every night since he's so little.
- Supplements - Zoomed. All Zoomed products.
- Watering - I spray the cage 3-4 times daily since the air here is pretty dry. And yes, I have seen him drink.
- Fecal Description - Normal brown and white. He hasn't been tested for parasites yet, but he doesn't show signs of having them.
- History - Came from a halfrate establishment that's kind of shady. Only place that deals young chameleons in a reasonable viscinity. He's healthy though, aside from the end of his tail.
Cage Info:
- Cage Type - All screen, medium sized Zoomed cage
- Lighting - Zoomed for the UVB, the heat lamp is second hand so I'm not sure what the brand is. I leave the UVB on all day, then turn it off at night. The heat lamp has to be turned on and off throughout the day because it tends to get very, very hot if left on too long.
- Temperature - Have a digital thermometer. Lowest temp at the lowest point in the cage is 65°. The basking spot hits about 80°.
- Humidity - I try to keep the humidity at at least 70%. I need a new gage though, the one I have is getting old. The screen makes it hard to keep this up though, and I can't afford a reptifogger at the moment.
- Plants - There's a bit of ficus in the cage, and the cage itself is near a bunch of plants. (That makes no real difference though.) I also have a bunch of fake foliage in there for him, but he could use some more.
- Placement - It's in our living room, by the window. Lets him get a bit of natural light. It's sad UVB can't penetrate glass. It's on a little table about a foot of the floor.
- Location - Colorado. e W e
