New Babies

Hi Ren
Some people said that keeping a few babies in a small container is the best.
You looks keeping a lot of babies in a big aquarium. How do you think of this?

Well right now nothing is working for me, everyday I have more and more that are passing away... I dont know whats going on with them, I have a lot that simply wont open their eyes and eat or drink....

what kinda of uvb source you have? might be too much uvb, dont want to open eyes cuz its blinding them, closed eyes= no food and drink=death.

uvb 5.0 bulb same as all the other chams i have, they had their eyes closed with no uvb and with so im not sure whats up, plus the others dont seam to mind it at all....

Ren-knowing how conscientious you are the ones that are not making it may just be weak babies and it is no fault of yours. I always try to remember that in the wild only a very small number of them will make it to adult hood. We humans don't really help the survival of the fittest theory!

Thanks guys, it just sucks to see them die on me, I feel terrible and cant seam to do anything to help them... My girls don't like to go by and look into the enclosures now in the fact they may find a dead one now....

Hi Ren,

You should probably try and but them outside to get some natural sun (make shure to put the cage in a half sun half shade location). It might also be harder since your using a tank...but Ive raise a whole clutch successfully in tanks . I have baby panthers right know and I noticed there doing a lot better once I started putting them outside for a few hours (Im also using screen cages this time) I know some breeders put the weaker or smaller ones in a seperate cage to help them find food easier. :)

I do have a extra wooden cage or two that ive built I can put them out for a bit, lately it has been really warm and damn near hot here... and muggy as all get out! Ill puyt them in the shade!!

I'm sorry to hear your little ones are not doing so good at the moment. I hope they pull through..

How many of the 56 do you have left?

the question is///

what in the heck do you do with all these babies lol. do you actually sell them?nd who buys them, id love to try my hand at making babies i just dont know what to do with them afterwards

Well the last clutch of 40 some eggs only 8 hatched, I think some were infertile and the others seamed to never wanna hatch and the eggs were very hard and rubbery.... of the 8 4 hatched, I gave 1 to a friend, traded one to Cat.Pardalisgirl, traded the other for supplies for the other chams from the woman at the local pet store, which is taking great care of him.... and the other is living with my sister... I never expected this many to hatch as i have never had such a turnout...
