New cham owner

Happy New Year! Here r tha pics
Ahhh, much better, less clutter, less cleaning, and you dont have to play hide and seek with your young panther chameleon anymore....your next step will be getting him a bigger cage, and some better lighting along with the misting system to take away ur personal busy daily routine....happy new year to you too:)

I have the containers full of water in there because I'm having a prob with the humidity. I also have put surran wrap around 3/4 of the cage because. I read on one of tha forums that if ur having trouble with the humidity that u should put something around the cage to keep in tha moisture. Is that true?
Why wrap the cage up like a construction site,if u can't see a beautiful building, thats why I suggest you a misting system:)

I know that with new chams they take a while to get used to the cage but how long will it take him to start eating?

If he is hungry enough,he should start eating right away...tell me the exact day that u got him?did you see any his poop at all?try check inside that croton plant of yours, the name of the game is called " find that poop".

Covering a portion of the cage is fine. I use a shower curtain to help trap humidity and prevent overspray from my mistking. I would honestly get rid of the jars of water. Your chameleon appears tiny enough that if he falls in, the glass may be too slippery for him to grip on and get out. If you spray the cage 3-4 times a day, it should be enough to keep him hydrated and happy. What is your humidity level before and after misting the cage?

Well roman empire wasn't build in a short period of the time...there is always other way to do it to achieve the same results.

I will start using a home made dripper and lots water spray session,to make up for ur economy loss, and find some big buckets of home depot buckets, fill it up the water, and place around or near your cage, hopefully that can raise ur humidity in the room.

Ok I'll try that

Plz let me know if that works out for you ,and look for his poop cause you can tell from his poop if is white, its just right,if is orange, that will be strange......white part of the poop usually mean he is hydrated, when u see a orange color ,u will need to monitor his water intakes by spraying more luke warm water on those plant around him,so he can lick up the water drops and stay well hydrated.

hi and welcome to the forums! congrats on your new cham! with your humidity i wouldn't suggest putting the jars of water in there because your cham could possibly drown. instead i would suggest putting some more live plants in there (pothos, ficus and umbrella plants are commonly used). putting the plastic wrap around the cage does keep in humidity and moisture a bit better. i would also strongly recommend that you mist your cage more if you are doing so already.

Do u know if the "big (or little) dripper" is any good?
