The cham kit is just a way for the chain stores to make money, I'm sorry that happened to you, it has happened to lots of people, my advice for you to read as many posts on this site about chameleon care, it is a treasure trove of info, when I got my first, I read info on this site for 3 days straight....etc..

Hey there! How is your new chameleon today?
Are the eyes still closed or was it sleeping for the night?
How is it moving around today?
Please don’t get discouraged by how the thread started there is still a lot you can do for your new baby so you should definitely fill out the information form.
Here is some recommended information to include when asking for help in the health clinic forum. By providing this information you will receive more accurate and beneficial responses. It might not be necessary to answer all these questions, but the more you provide the better. Please remember that even the most knowledgeable person can only guess at what your problem may be. Only an experienced reptile veterinarian who can directly examine your animal can give a true diagnosis of your chameleon's health.

Please Note:
  1. The more details you provide the better and more accurate help you will receive.
  2. Photos can be very helpful.

Nobody expects you to have everything perfect immediately but there are some essentials. You do need to get a tube style uvb light and some important supplements right away.
You also need to increase the number of horizontal branches so your chameleon can thermoregulate and climb.
Don’t worry about the green reptile carpet take it out and use papertowels.

Then, I recommend reading through all pages of this thread by someone who started off with a veiled setup that needed some work and made it great.

Best wishes.
Please fill out the form.

What's with the amount of new people who don't do any research when getting a chameleon? Even if it's a gift, the least you can do is to research a little before buying the accessories. With that being said, we are waiting for you to fill up the form in details.
