New chameleon? eyes closed!!!

My baby veiled chameleon got here this morning from lllreptile and has been closing his eyes most of the day and doesnt move around alot. Is this normal?

100 watt heat lamp
tropical uvb 100 lamp
dripper
screen cage

No that is not normal to close his eyes. 100 watt is an awful lot of wattage for a baby. What are your temps? Also not sure what a 100 uvb is. Most of use 5.0's. If you have the wrong bulbs and the light and heat are too intense it is going to cause eye issues

The uvb is 5.0 sorry got mixed up! the temperature by the heat lamp is about 83 degrees and the humidity is between 60 and 70.

personally...i would contact them and let them know asap. usually with any store that ships they have a short window that you can say something is wrong with your order. Moat places have a healthy alive guarantee for a few days to a week but you're not even at 24 hrs yet.

i have 2 babies and they are always up.. the do go to their sleeping spots a bit earlier than the adults though ive noticed..

I personally have bought my pair of vieled chams From LLL and my female had one of her eyes closed on and off for the first month . And then she did not eat for almost two weeks . I thought she was a gonner and she eventually pulled thru it all...but u do have to call immediately and let them know u have an issue and u will be covered for a refund.but call tomoro do not wait .He will prob be ok just be vigilant and do your homework ...ill show u my pair Ali and nahla about 6 mt

I believe we aren't supposed to name companies here, but the last 10 or so complaints I have read were about lllreptile veils and jax. Make sure you call right away, as the last person on here couldn't get a return call. Sorry. It always helps to see your cham before purchasing unless that breeder has an excellent reputation.
