New Greenhouse Plants and a Parsonii

Motherlode Chameleon

Chameleon Enthusiast
I just recently picked up two nontoxic plants for my chameleons to use in the greenhouse. One is from the family Malvaceae from South America and the second is from the family Corynocarpaceae and is from New Zealand. Plus a picture of my male Parsonii Rhino.

Here's the Malvaceae that has got some flowers.

Here's the Corynocarpaceae that has branches that are a bit larger in circumference.

Lastly a picture of Rhino (who is still hibernating). He is sitting next to a Ylang Ylang plant that in Madagascar you normally find Furcifer pardalis on.:D

Thanks! Sorry to say this greenhouse does not have solarcryl panels (I provide supplemental UV lights and dust feeders with d3 and calciium). It was a gift from the family for earning multiple strait A's in junior college after I had some medical problems. Meaning I could not and would not say no this gift.

My major at UC Davis is an agriculture major and I actually use my greenhouse for more than keeping biological specimens. Meaning if or when I upgrade the next greenhouse is going to be a solarcryl panel greenhouse.

Rhino is especially loving life when he is inside the greenhouse.

Nice gift! That's awesome :) I also would love a solarcryl greenhouse  I see you are in yosemite, my sister wants to visit me and take a long drive there to camp out, I hear it's beautiful :)

Like the new plants, where were you able to find them? Rhino is looking very much the stud on patrol.:D

Suzi if you and your sister are around send me a PM. A couple of us here in Northern California are considering putting together a Chameleon meeting and BBQ. If we put that together you may want to stop by.

That sounds awesome! We were thinking maybe first week in March, I will let you know if it happens :)

My chams envy your chams. Rhino's very handsome! My husband got his degrees at UC Davis in plant pathology, many moons ago.

Love the new plants! And ever since I saw your first thread on rebuilding the greenhouse I have wanted one (my crux is how to keep it cool in the AZ sun) Anyway thanks for sharing your plants, Parsonii and greenhouse with us ;) Now that I am green I will move on:p

Alumni that is awesome. There are a couple forum members that are attending or attended UC Davis. I had the same plant geography class with Calavera.:D

Rhino had found a good place to live.
What is the lowest temperature in your greenhouse now in winter ?

Ok, now just how would a wild pardalis keep a parsonii of their plants? I expect a parsoni goes exactly where it wants to despite those wimply little panthers! At least the surly females anyway. Funny, the male parsoni I met in the wild were all very mellow. The females were anything but.

Beautiful boy!

I'm only comfortable with lowest drops from 55F to 60F.

Carlton the Ylang Ylang plant is an agriculture plant (or secondary habitat) which in these orchards Parsonii are not known to occur. However this secondary habitat is know to be great habitat for Furcifer pardalis.
