New guy and Shedding

Hey there,
I happen to be a new chameleon owner and have had my little guy for only about 2 weeks. From what i know he is about 5 weeks old. Today when I came home from school I noticed he had been shedding. There was remnants on the bottom of the cage as well as he still had skin on his tail that was still trying to peel off. Do I need to mist his cage more since he is shedding? what can I do to help him out?

Also, I have heard terrible stories from my research on my little guy about how evil chameleons can be. I hope he doesnt grow up to be like that, is there anyway I can make him feel comfortable and tame when the time comes?

I appreciate the information and assistance!

As long as the humidity is good and you water him normally he should shed fine. As for a loving personality, I would say just try not to scare him with sudden movements and just let him get comfortable around you. My chameleon is fine with me being right in his face but if my brother comes close to him he flares up.

Awesome! thank you. Like I said I'm new to being a chameleon owner and I've done a lot of research but its nice to get feedback straight from other owners. The man I bought my little guy from told me its best if I didnt handle him for another week or so because he is so young. But whenever i go near the cage or turn on or off the light of even open the cage to feed him he tends to try to run away so I'm begining to get a little nervous as to if he will be a friendly guy.

I have been feeding him crickets that I have been dusting in Vitamins and I believe his lighting is adequate. He has good humidiy. What do you suggest in a variety?
I read something about leafy greens but is he too young for that?
