New here with a question for yall

Ya I removed the bamboo last night. and its 80 at the top of the cage. She has room to move around and shade to hide in. So you all think I should go with a colder heat bulb?

just the one that came with the kit.

Also my chameleon seems to be really picky. All she eats is crickets. I have tried meal worms and just got some wax worms. She didn't eat any of the meal worms and I only got her to eat one wax worm. Is there a trick to getting them to eat other kind of insects?

Here is what I did to get my Veiled Chameleon to eat worms. (Don't use mealworms, thay can cause compaction and they are not nutritious)

I took a red solo cup, and cut the bottom off, and use the bottom. I left a lip about 1/2 an inch high.

I put the Phoenix worm(s) in this, and held the holder up so he could see them squirming. He now RUNS to the door when he sees me carrying the worm holder :D They need to see them moving to get interest.

I tried tricking him into thinking pear and apple pieces were worms, but he doesn't fall for that, he has even tried to tongue snipe my finger instead of the fruit pieces, which I find funny. He will eventually eat the fruit pieces though :) Some worms you can get to squirm faster by letting them warm up.

i believe the termonology is impaction not compaction but hey call me crazy

youve got a female. The setup that you had/have (hopefully youll change it) is what i call a stereotypical chameleon cage, glass, dirt, and a water dish, but as people have said its the wrong setup. good luck with her.

She is about 4 to 5 months now. And I actually just changed the set up in the cage. and when she gets older gonna extend upwards. So now worrys.

Well I redid the cage last night and I think she love s it. As soon as I put her in there she turned like neon green which so far only has done when she is sleeping. I got some more vines and got rid of the dirt and bought a devils ivy plant. She seems alot happier now.
