Hello everyone!

My name is Wendy, and I live in the Netherlands. In july I bought my first Chameleon, a veiled. His name is Pete, and he's 3,5 months old now and doin' very well. I have some experience with reptiles and amfibians. I currently also keep Phelsuma's and poison arrow frogs. But i want to focus primarily on chams and frogs, so my Phelsuma's are up for sale ;).

I am also a member of the Dutch chameleon society, but I stumbled upon this forum. It's also nice to read and share some information with people abroad!

Greetz,

Wendy :)

I'm sorry if my introduction is in the wrong section

This is my 3,5 month old lil' devil ;)

I measured him yesterday. He's 14 inch and weighs 3,5 ounce.

Everyone tells me that's really big for a young veiled.

WOAH!!!

He looks way to big and old to be 3.5 months,

he looks more like at least 6 months....where did u get him from????

that is a whopper of a chameleon for 3months!
Are you positive on the age?! Great looking cham whatever age!!!

Hey Wendy and welcome to the forum! Thats one handsom stud you have there :p but i agree that is one big chameleon for 3 months lol, was he 3 months old when you first got him?

Nope ;-). I bought him when he was almost 2 months old, the 27th of july. He was the biggest one amongst his brothers. He was about a fingerlength, no kidding! I bought him from a hobby breeder. He had like 55 baby veiled. All born around half of june. His mommy and daddy where present.

Now he is this big! Amazing isn't it? But he is eating like a monster. 8 middle sized crickets, 3 or 4 middle sized grasshoppers and some butterworms or silkworms in the evening is a regular eating day for Pete! He also sheds like every two weeks. I hope he will get really large!

Hello Wendy we are happy to have you join us. We have a couple of members from your part of the world but another is a great addition.

I love that your guy has the prefect karate chop going already. What a little doll.

Nice colors, Goonie!! This is the dutch kameleon forum, and offcourse...it's in Dutch haha! http://www.de-kvn.nl/forum/

I'm really crazy about my Pete. So crazy that I only want to concentrate on chameleons. My husband and I are goin' to build a large terrarium in the kitchen. And we are planning on housing a couple of Furcifer oustaleti or a single male panther. Currently i am selling my aquarium and fish and my Phelsuma's to make this possible :D.

welcome to the forums and chameleon addiction. where abouts in the Netherlands are you from? I am of dutch background (first generation born here) I visited Holland about 10 years ago (Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Arnhem, Appledorn and a few other places) I met a bunch of family and absolutely loved the country and the people.

Hey welcome to the forums, he really is a big veiled for his age. He will be huge when he is an adult.

And I just thought...this baby is definetely a contender with the Chamille and Luie babies in terms of size! :p

I was born in The Hague, that's where our government is housed. I studied in Rotterdam, met my husband there and lived in the centre for 5 years. Recently we moved to the suburbs 'cause of our daughter Aimee (4 years) :). We now have a bigger house, so more space for chams!!! :D
