Hey all. Joined this forum for all the good info everyone shares. My new baby male translucent veiled is 2 months. His name is Pasquale. I'm still figure it all out. Hope I can get some tips. Thx.
Welcome to the community! There are great people with a world of knowledge that are more than willing to help with any questions you may have. I really like the look of your enclosure!
Great looking setup you have with lots of hiding spots for your new boy. I will mention you should get rid of the substrate to avoid any choking or impaction issues. He will at some point go to the bottom of his cage, whether that be to explore, hunt a bug, or whatever. There's a good chance he will shoot for a feeder and wind up with some of that substrate instead, which could be a bad situation. Just my two cents, and best of luck with your new little one.
It's great you got it removed. I understand the eye sore a plain bottom can look but believe me, leave it bare! It makes daily cleaning a lot easier plus carpet can harbor bacteria and crickets will always make there way under it then start to smell things up good and ripe! Just my 2cents.
You should have a drainage system of some sort to prevent water from accumulating. You don't want standing water on the bottom. Drill small holes with a catch bucket underneath.
Welcome & congrats on your new, little one! Your enclosure looks fantastic. I agree with everyone that you should ditch the substrate. Bad for the baby.
