what is the diff between a compact and a linear light i have a incandesent dy blue light bulb and my baby squirtle (my veile chameleons name) is eating and hydreated but her left eye wont open and i just noticed it even more today. can you tell me the difference is bc im scared it might be harming her
Some compacts/spirals can cause eye issues. Some tube lights also cause problems but there have been no bad reports about the long linear fluourescent Repti-sun 5.0 has no bad reports which is one reason its always recommended... http://www.uvguide.co.uk/index.htm
Although I agree the ReptiSun 5.0 linear tube light is the best, it may be worth hearing that I've used ReptiGlo 5.0 CFLs without any issues whatsoever, both on adults and hatchlings. So likely, no harm has been done if you are using this particular brand of CFL. Still, better safe than sorry, and choose a ReptiGlo or ReptiSun tube whenever possible
