new owner...temp and humidity are not where they should be, dont know why..

That is normal. Maybe let him be for a couple of weeks to get acclimated to his new home and environment. When I bring mine outside of enclosure he turns brighter. Not much though. Then they will be a little darker when trying to warm up in their basking spot.

Ok thank you. Yeah he has been much brighter the two times I held him at the pet shop, and when I took him out of the box/carrier today at home. Hopefully he is warm enough. He has a appetite though! 4 mealworms and about 10-12 crickets

He's lovely!
So its a Mercury Vapor Bulb? and you cant keep it hot enough? how far away is it? You're probably the first person I've heard that has a problem getting an enclosure warm enough with an MVB.
Powersun are definitely MVB, I tried one with disastrous results.

Ok I wasn't sure what a mercury bulb was. Didn't think I had one. But if that's what a PowerSun is than I have one. I moved the cage to a less drafty location and the powersun by itself now gets up to 84-86. Also at the time I posted this I thought his basking point was supposed to be 90-100. Which I learned was incorrect. I'm gonna keep the ceramic for nigh time if it gets too cold

Just the power sun will have all the lighting needs in one bulb, but they do put off a lot of heat so watch that but it sounds like temps are good. Ceramic is great for night heat, but only if your temp drops are too low. Be sure that the power sun is pointing straight down and doesn't get sprayed or misted accidentally, they can explode.

Ok thanks!!! Perfect timing for me to ask you my next question. So my Cham started to fall asleep around 6:45, his light shuts off at 7:00. He is def fast asleep right now on a branch at a high point. But without the ceramic heat it dropped to 67-69, I didn't want the poor thing to be cold, especially bc it's his first day in his new home and I want him to be comfy and cozy. So I turned on the ceramic and the area he is sleeping in ( which is his day time basking area ) is at 79. Too hot right?? He looks so cozy though. But I want to do whatever is best for him. Opinion ?

My ambient room temp in never under 75, I'm very cold natured! He'd be just fine without the extra heat but it won't hurt him. The higher heat range in theory could speed digestion and can boost immune system, so if he's happy and sleeping well I would let him be a little extra warm and snuggly.

Actually the temp drop in the night helps their metabolism. 67-69 is not bad at all. They can even drop to 55(some say lower) just fine as long as they have a good basking spot in the morning.
