First Time Chamelon! Just got on Sunday! How does the cage look! Very Nervous Want To Make Sure I'm Doing Things Right

Congradulations on your new chameleon!
I see you have a glass cage which is not totally bad but personally when he or she gets bigger I would change to a large screen cage so 1 the chameleon gets more air flow and 2 so it does not see its reflection and try to attack it. When your chameleon is older I would recomend a 2'×2'×4' sized cage. Also what are you feeding him or her, what are you gutloading the feeders with and what is your supplement schedule?

Thank you! I'm only going to use this cage for a bit petsmart told me it was ok but after joining this forum I see differently now! So maybe just a few months with this cage then I'll change it!! I am feeding small crickets with calcium and small meal worms which petsmart said was ok but a lot of people say no on here!

What calcium do you use? You should use a calcium WITHOUT d3 at most feedings and then you should use a calcium WITH d3 twice a month along with a multivitamin twice a month.

Males have little nubs ( spurs) on their back feet. Females do not. You can post a pic of the back feet and we can try to help you figure out the gender of your cham if you are not sure.

The position he is in I can't get a good picture I only got him on Sunday so he is still alittle stress I think

yeah, til shes approximately 6 months old. i could be wrong on the sex, males have spurs on the backs of the feet, i havent seen them yet. females also dont require as much space as a male. males use the xl reptibreeze while the females can be fine in the medium to large enclosures.
