New Panther Chameleon Owner

Hey there so I bought a Panther chameleon this past Sunday (Nov 29, 2015) at the white plains reptile expo.

He (Named him Sonic) is a Male Nosy Faly that is just under a year old the breeder stated. If anyone could guess his age and let me know this would be fantastic!

Also I came home from work today (wish I was there so I could examine but I wasn't) and saw that he had popped for the first time, this was all I could find & wanted to make sure that everything looked good or not. I didn't see any of that urate should I have seen this?

I also have an automatic mister on a timer as well.

Any input would be greately appreciated

I have an automatic mister (4 times a day every 6 hours) and a solar glo bulb, basking is at 85-87 on a timer from 7 am to 7 pm humidity is around 50-60

Since I've had sonic he's eaten 6 Dubia medium/large nymph roaches coated with calcium powder no d3

Skipped Tuesday, tried hornworms Wednesday he didn't go for it, I am going to try again Thursday, I know there are very knowledgable folks on here so any feeding tips for beginners regarding taming/him getting more comfortable, even other basic tips would be great as well with me would be greately appreciated

Beautiful Boy! I would say about a year old is an accurate guess.

As far as your misting...you said every 6 hours...The mister should not be going off during the night while he's sleeping. Mist between 7am-7pm when the lights are on, try every 3-4 hours. Poop looks fine, Urates are sometimes small and detach from the poop, nothing to be worried about there unless you find yellow/orange poop, which means he's dehydrated.

For now, I would just throw feeders in the cage for him to eat on his own. He really needs about 1-2 weeks to acclimate to his new home, and he may be very reserved about eating/drinking in front of you (he's still trying to figure out if you're going to eat him or not). After he's settled, you can try hand feeding. That's the best way for him to get comfortable with you and any handling.

Understood thank you so much for The info I will not mist while he is sleeping and as for feeding will do I understand id be worrying if I was going to eat me or not as well

Thank you so much for all the info will do about the misting that was very informative and the feeding I understand I'll try that I don't blame him for not being used to everything yet I wouldn't be either have a great day
