Well here is the deal , I have just purchased my 3rd Panther in 3 Month. (Yes I am highly addicted) Here is the current config in regards to cages I have for them.

My Ambilobe is about 5.5 month old and has been moved to a 24X24X48 Enclosure and is very happy. I moved him up at about 4.75 months.

My Ambanja is about 2.5 months old and is currently in a 24X12X24 Enclosure

The Sambava will be shipping anywhere from 3 - 7 weeks. I plan putting him into the 24X12X24 Enclosure until he gets older.

I want to purchase another 24X24X48 Enclosure and move the Ambanja up to that one when I get him. In the event I receive the Sambava in 3 weeks (The Ambanja will be about 3.1 months old. Will the cage be too big for him? I know He will be fine if it takes 7 weeks.

I just wanted to get some feedback from you guys.

All Three have come from the Kammers.

WOW, no opinions out of 23 views? I've pretty much have it figured out just wanted some feedback on what other might do.

Thanks anyway

I think he should be fine. the only issue he might have is finding food. If you make sure there arent many places for crickets to hide you should be fine.

Awesome man... always fun bringing a new guy home. Your plan with the cages sounds good to me. I am curious if anyone tubs their young panthers.

My small cage worked really well for my 2 month old ambanja. He is approaching 3 months now and is thriving. Tubbing may have been a good option he was really small but seemed to get along fine in the cage.

I don't doubt that screen cages work well even for the babies. I was just thinking that if your new guy comes young you could put him in a tub for a month to give your ambanja an extra month of growth, but I also think the ambanja would be fine in a large cage at 3 months.

I personally never tubbed baby chams. I have some 3-3 1/2 months old babys now and I just moved them all to a 24x24x36" cage. I like the small sceen cages for babys they measure 9x16x16".

Got ya, That is a great idea! Don't know where my brain was. I get it now. :p

I LOVE the idea of tubbing babies... Even if the only reason is to keep in the tiny feeders. Pin Heads, FF, Dubia Nymph, No worries about escapes through solid plastic... I am sold. My upcoming hatchlings are going to open air tub it until they are big enough to eat Med Crix. I tried to feed a baby veiled pinheads and FF in a screen cage before. I had to share my room with loose bugs... Not cool.

Yea man, and of course you know pin heads get into the tiniest of cracks, i put my female ambilobe in a cage too big, she settled right in though and i would see her eat drink and poop, but the crickets would crawl into the holes in the corner of the hollow aluminum framing. i tried covering the holes with tape, but they just chew right through it. It was hard to monitor at first how much she was eating and where the crickets were all going. She hates cups btw. I tubbed my baby melleri, you can monitor and observe just about everything :)

I moved my 3.5 panther to his juvi cage today 18x36x36, no worries on the crux since he jumps into the cup before I can even get them out. I couldn't tell if he was happy with the room or a little disoriented, really cruzing around
