New to chameleons

I just bought a veiled chameleon the other day. I had read about them on the internet to learn everything I had to do. Well when I went and got him the lady said she thought he was 6 months old. I bought him from a petsmart. I don't think he is six months old though. Any ideas of how I can tell how old he really is?

Your cham is Def not 6 months old. probably closer to 3 or 4 months. My cham is 7 months old, and my guy is more than 4 times your guys size.

That's what I thought. But I wasnt sure. About when did yours start getting more of a variety of colors?

Somewhere around 6 months old. But he didnt fire up until about 2 weeks ago.
