That's pretty much standard for most (all) herps, and what a lot of neophytes don't realize or come to grips with. I think because a lot of reptiles (especially the inexpensive ones like green anoles) wind up as impulse purchases, and not everyone looks before they leap.I feel as though we’d be better served by investing more money into habitat and nutrition.

I get that now. When I first started looking seriously at getting a chameleon, I hated the look of that casque (Don't ask me why—I have no rational answer ). But as time & research have gone by, they're growing on me. Can't explain that either... (shrug?)Plus, my daughter, who this is really all for, fell in love with the casque!
