New to forum and chameleons

I feel as though we’d be better served by investing more money into habitat and nutrition.

That's pretty much standard for most (all) herps, and what a lot of neophytes don't realize or come to grips with. I think because a lot of reptiles (especially the inexpensive ones like green anoles) wind up as impulse purchases, and not everyone looks before they leap.

"Whaddaya mean it's gonna cost $200+ per year to keep a $5 lizard‽‽‽"

Plus, my daughter, who this is really all for, fell in love with the casque!

I get that now. When I first started looking seriously at getting a chameleon, I hated the look of that casque (Don't ask me why—I have no rational answer ). But as time & research have gone by, they're growing on me. Can't explain that either... (shrug?)

I get it. I love the casque as well. ❤ I would get a male for her first chameleon. If you can find a private breeder that actually works with them they tend to be better acclimated to contact with people.

I also have a 12 year old (son) and it’s such a great thing to do together! I got a notebook for him to keep notes in sort of like a lab journal. There is a lot to keep track of!

I do but I’m pretty sure she has found homes for all her babies. Unless someone changed their mind. @jannb
