Hi my name is alex and my brother just got a jackson chameleon his name is graffiki. He has an accout as well but i thought id post first. I am a member of the tortoise forum aswell. I was wondering if this is all our jackson needs for heat is the repti glo 5.0 lamp 15w uva uvb

Jacksons are a montane species, requiring slighly less temperatures than others. Anything higher than 89°f is unwanted. A basking bulb of say 25w will do you just fine. I would recommend switching out the repti-glo to a more reputable brand though. Say Zoomed Reptisun 5.0 or Arcadia 6%. Up to you. The Zoomed will need to be changed every six months and the latter every year. Also, night temp drops are a definite must for the guys. It stimulates their appetites. As close to 60-65°f at nite as you can, the better. Supplements are different for these guys also. Muliti and Ca w/ D3 once a month. These guys are delicate, so at the first sign of trouble, please ask for help. No question is stupid or unwarranted. Congrats on posting before your brother.

hes a Jackson chameleon. male, about 3moths old, only had him for a few hours. the pet store sold me meal worms attempted to feed him but he didn't want to eat.
we have sprayed his enclosure a few times to get humidity up.
all the plants are fake except the branch was taken from a live tree. humidity is currently 73% and temp is 78f. its a glass enclosure with a screen, which is placed ontop of a small desk. the tank is 17x35in L and w. we are located in the east bay California.

meal worms are pretty much useless. I would go with dubias, crickets, stick insects, silk worms, and horn worms. Jacksons also tend to love snails.

I would change the plants to living. I have found that my jacksons do much better with live plants.

I would change the cage to a fully screen cage that is 24"X24"X48". Jackson's like to roam around, so my guys are in 36X36X72 cages, but that is more than they need, but not more than they want:). How tall is your cage right now? Is it just a fish tank or is it a tall reptile/amphibian cage? You can keep them in glass, but it is more challenging to get it right than in a screen cage.

How are you getting him water? I would automate this if at all possible. I use a mist king for humidity and a dripper to get them enough drinking water.

I am spraying the leafs but he has not drank anything because he is scred fro the bag the store put him in. what should I use to give him water all day

You might find he is drinking when you're not around.

a dripper seems to be the best way of providing water for drinking.

I would get a small pump, like Tom's Aqualifter, and set that up with a timer to provide automated dripping. I would also get a mist king that will give you automated misting.

Can you post a pic of your set up? It would help us to help you if we knew exactly what he is in.

Sorry to hijack but this seems like a brilliant idea. How would you do this?
