The one you got is called a compact bulb. These are the ones that are not adequate because the distance of safe UVB is very shallow.

So you want to buy a single bulb T5HO fixture and a 5.0 or 6% bulb. Then you would put the basking branch 9 inches below the new fixture.

I would get the 24 inch fixture if your enclosure is 24 inches wide or you will be upgrading to the 24 inch wide cage.

This fixture... https://www.pangeareptile.com/store/t5-uvb-light-fixture.html
But get this bulb in the 22 inch https://www.pangeareptile.com/store/arcadia-6-uvb-t5-reptile-bulb.html

The fixture comes with a daylight bulb which is good for plants ONLY. So you have to get the UVB bulb to replace it.

These fixtures can be daisy chained together as well. If you want to get 1 or 2 more so you have plant lighting. These additional fixtures you would leave the daylight bulbs in so there is nothing additional for those.

Because this was so helpful.
What's with the attitude? I didn't ask for your opinion and I was simply saying that they should have done their research before getting a chameleon and to do their research before getting another animal if they plan to do so. How exactly did your attitude help the situation either?

99% of the people that come here have not "done their research"

Looking back on some of your initial posts you had items in husbandry you needed to correct as well. No one knows everything it is ALL a learning process and this continues every day your in this hobby because information is changing and fluid. But telling someone they should do their research does NOTHING. And honestly after the last few years in this forum I have watched how comments like yours make people leave rather then stay and get the help they need.

So if you don't want to add helpful information in a post then simply don't post. People come to this forum for help. Not for people to try to belittle them. Example look at your reaction to my comment. Does not feel good when someone puts you in your place and scolds you. So how do you think you made them feel?

Please do your research before getting an animal, I know it's a little late but just keep that in mind if you plan to get another animal in the future please
I’ve done tons of research and my chameleon is perfectly healthy. The pet store and veterinarians have told me to get the light that I currently have. I ordered the piece as soon as I found out she needed it. This comment is rude and ignorant, you don’t know me. I research about my Cham everyday. I wouldn’t have adopted her if I wasn’t positive that I could give her a good life. I’ve been researching chameleons for years before I got her, and felt that I was ready. I hate seeing these kinds of comments, if I wasn’t capable or ready to take care of her, then I wouldn’t have got her. Thanks for your input tho:)!!!

It's funny bc u were the one being rude and childish. If you look up chameleon care, one of the first things that come up are do not use compact uvb bulbs it's sad that people think it's ok to buy an animal without doing simple research. But being the somewhat kind person I am I didnt say that did I? No, I said to please do your research, simple research at that, before getting another animal if you plan to do so. I was not being rude, atleast i wasnt trying to be, so I apologize if I came off that way but there was no reason for you to "roll ur eyes" at me.

Thank you for always being helpful. I will order the linear light that you guys linked. I would pick it up in store but it will be here just the around the same time as I would be able to make it to a pet store. Thanks for the help instead of telling me to do my research because I have and continue to every single day, which is why I joined this. I want my Cham to have the happiest and healthiest life she can and I’m doing everything in my power to do so.

Thank you for defending me:) it was a little discouraging to see a comment like that when I try as hard as I can to give my girl a good life. I’m still learning and improving !
