New UVB

Thank you for defending me:) it was a little discouraging to see a comment like that when I try as hard as I can to give my girl a good life. I’m still learning and improving !
Everyone is improving... Does not matter how long someone has been in this hobby. Information changes as more is learned about keeping chameleons. It is a big deal to put yourself out there asking for help. Many just lurk because they are afraid of getting backlash by posting their questions.

So keep learning and keep asking questions. Most of us that have been here for years stay here specifically for Newbie support and guidance.

I really like ordering from pangea... I get them in quickly and you can pay for faster shipping as well hun. Let us know if you have any questions. Your doing a great job. Your learning and making changes quickly.
Thank you, that means a lot!

UVB is one of those tricky topics to understand. But it is essential to the health of your chameleon it is done correctly. In the spirit of learning, here are some great UVB resources that will hopefully make a complicated topic easier to understand. And as always feel free to ask questions if something doesn't make sense or is still confusing.

I was confused about which model of light to get (linear and compact) I bought a compact one for the meantime because the linear uvb and fixture that I ordered on Amazon will not be here till the 19th. I bought the t5 HO, 22 inch with the 24 inch fixture since I’ve heard the fixture needs to be longer than the light. Let me know if I made the right purchases, I believe I did this time. I was watching a few YouTube videos on how to pick out the right one and then I ordered it right away.

Hey I need your help. I ordered these parts but now I’m not sure if I ordered two bulbs or if one is a fixture.

Not to you, but maybe for the other person it was.
Read through the thread... For the OP themselves said that it wasn't. This kind of feedback discourages people rather then encourages them. This is the exact opposite of what we should want here. No one comes here with all the answers.. You didn't and I didn't. To make someone feel uncomfortable to ask for help is truly a shame to me and in the end the chameleon is the one that suffers.

we all guilty of that.
Maybe there is someone reading this that doesn't own a cham, and wants to get one. That's a quick reality check. She didn't ask for that kind of advice, but most of us give unasked advice.
like literally I've seen people ask why Cham is hissing and we all, fill this out, etc, etc

Exactly beman when I joined here one member made me feel so stupid and I was quiet upset I did not join to be belittled I joined to learn and give my girl the best.

Some old timers joined the dirt bike forums. They were asking why his new bike kept stalling out or not starting. They were made to feel real stupid for asking simple questions.

But oh lord look at the new safety features of the new bikes:

We all have too learn. To say do your research first is a bit absurd. Most everyone feels they have done research, they got all the info from the pet shop. They don't know what they aren't told.
You are here which is farther than most. You deserve no criticism for doing what you thought was right.
There is much good here. Even if we start off bad.

I am pretty sure I have had disagreements with @Beman. This doesn't mean she is not one of the best mentors out there. And her care is on spot.

So you ordered a T8 fixture rather then a T5HO fixture. These are not compatible with the T5 bulbs. So it will not work.

So if you want to order on amazon you need this one. https://www.amazon.com/Reptisun-T5-Ho-Terrarium-Hood/dp/B00CX5HXI2/ref=sr_1_1?crid=1C6IG13TSVH49&dchild=1&keywords=reptisun+t5+ho+terrarium+hood&qid=1605205681&sprefix=reptisun+,aps,234&sr=8-1

And it comes with the 5.0 UVB bulb
Thank you so much. I just ordered this one and returned the others.
