No bugs! Feeder fish?

Aren't there any WC insects you could collect there?

no..i guess with the dry highh temps its a trouble to find free range insects..(understandable as its too cold here in winter to find anything, but for instance founde three huge hornworms that i can pupate and add to the breeding colony)..lol "sneaking them in"..at least you have good thoughts and intentions for your cham (all the better!)..

one thought i did have..

what where you feeding your roaches as a gutload?

i have noticed if i use more fruits or tasty veggies(i say tasty as in stuff ied eat, not throw away veggies an insect would only eat)and my chams like the taste more(in my crix, but...) ..i would be assuming like the shark commercial, how the sharks liked the guy that ate a snickers, but not the guys that ate "regular food"..maybe thats the trick..give them some more fruits(i give my crix sundried, blueberries, strawberries, plums, apricots, grapes, and a mix of banana, and pear...)if they taste better and have all the calcium and nutrients they need maybe they will taste better?????

Go out at night where there is somewhere with moist ground. Preferably the ground would be moist all the time or most of the time. Insects will gather at such locations. I would also recommend building a light trap so that you can attempt to lure the insects in. Black lights and very bright plant bulbs (in the 5000K+ range) work well in a pinch as they aren't too expensive and they work pretty well. There are tons of insects that you probably just are not seeing. Many are underground dwellers that only surface at night.

If for whatever reason you cannot find food for him for a very long time (a month +) then you can always feed a lizard or small snake (safely!) As long as he is healthy he should be fine for a month and from then on, with minimal feeding. He might get a bit thin though.
