Not sure, but...

I don't know if it's me, or if it's because it's the morning and breakfast's still in him, but is Ziggy looking a little plump? I'm not majorly concerned, if I'm right then I'll cut back his feeding, he gets about 10 small crickets per day as he's only about 3 months old.

No, he is fine and he can be eating double that amount. Does he have the tarsal spurs on his back feet to distinguish he is a male?.

Thanks, I haven't kept chameleons in nearly 7 years, so I wasn't sure. Yes, I checked for the spur when I got him as I specifically wanted a male.

They can be little gluttons when they are young. Also I notice you have silk plants in your inclosure. I'd replace them with real plants. Veilds most if the time will nibble on plants. Silk cannot be digested and can cause a blockage or impaction.

Thanks for the consideration, I've been keeping a close eye on his interactions with the plants and so far he hasn't nibbled on them, I check them often and thoroughly. I have a small Benjamina, a large one which I intend on placing in his Reptibreeze XL when Ziggy's large enough, and 2 small schefflera that I'm growing too. Although I have been considering moving the small ones into his viv, I'm afraid his level of leaf cover would dramatically drop as the plants aren't very big yet and he does love to hang from the vines under the leaves when he sleeps. What're your thoughts?

I always go for easy. If he is happy, just let him be. If you feel he needs more cover, less cover, more basking area, less climbing space, etc. fix what you feel needs fixed, otherwise let him be. jmo

He seems pretty comfortable as it is right now, but once he's moved into his bigger enclosure there'll be an abundance of live plants for him. When I take him out of his current viv and put him on the live plants I'm growing for him he snacks on the leaves a little, so I'm impressed that he can tell the difference between what to take a bite out of and what not to.

With each passing week I find new things about him the habits he's developed that I adore.

IMO, I suggest also getting rid of the silk plant. You say you watch him closely, but if you come in and the plant has a big bite out of it, what now? lol I bring this up again because I have had a veiled that ate some of the fake plants and had to go to the vet. I always errored on the side of safety, and real plants have many more positive qualities.

I had already considered moving the smaller live plants into his current viv tomorrow anyway, as they'll help maintain the humidity levels too.
