Hi all, i just wondered if anyone can tell me what this beetle is?? The only thing that i can think of is maybe it is a super worm beetle? I'm not even sure if they morph into beetles...

I got home from doing some laundry and found my chameleon darker than normal and staring at this beetle with his mouth gaped open. He was not a happy camper!

Also, this beetle puts off an extremely foul odor.

Thanks for any replies:)

well i just did a google on super worm beetle and i think i just answered my question... :) ??

Now if this is a super worm beetle, can they lay eggs without the opposite sex?

Is there anything special you have to do to get the eggs to hatch?

Why did this morph into a beetle in the cage? and non of them morph in the container housing them? Is it the moisture? Dirt?

Thanks

That's exactly what it is.....
My bearded dragons love them.

haha my jacksons was a bit scared of it i think.:) Bearded dragon still likes them over the odor they put off hey?

I would love to get a bearded dragon but my better half thinks other wise...

I can't answer any of your other questions but it morphed into a beetle because they one do this when housed seperately.

It's fear of being eaten by the other superworms. If you house them seperate you can get them to morph. As the worm slows down to morph, it is exposed to predication by the other active worms.
