novice keeper - Veiled in trouble

That makes her really obese! Will remove substrate and replace with some artificial grass tomorrow.
Assuming something can be done for it are there any none invasive ways to relieve impaction?
Treatment can be as simple as laxatives and hydration or more involved and requires surgery. All depends on the severity and what's causing the impaction. More information would be needed before treatment can be suggested

Can you please tell me what supplements you use and how often for each? What do you feed/gutload your insects with? Donyou have a UVB light thanks less than a year old and what's the basking temperature?
If you can't get a copy of the x-ray ask the vet if the follicles/eggs are round or oval and if he can give an approximate size (like tictac, pea, jellybean).

Zachery..A female veiled that is fat from overfeeding lays big clutches of eggs...can suffer eventually from MBD, egg binding, prolapse and a number of other issues...plus it will shorten her life considerably.

I been using a calcium (no d3) powder to dust all her locusts which are gut loaded with fresh fruit and veg - e.g. carrot, apple, dandelion, rocket (no calcium blocking food like broccoli). Intended to get some vitamin supplements too.
Housing 450x450x900mm mesh enclosure
Lighting: 100w basking lamp usually about 84deg at 250mm away - temp drops to 65deg at viv floor (and all over at night time)
5.0 uvb tube - lead to believe was 3months old when I got it (5 now).
Dripper for moisture/humidity and hand spray - considering mistking purchase?

I'll certainly ask vet for further X-ray details tomorrow

Any helpful comments on regime or advice on setup?

What's overfed? I've seen advice to feed an adult from 3or4 large hoppers every other day to a dozen a day?

Aiden asked..."What's overfed? I've seen advice to feed an adult from 3or4 large hoppers every other day to a dozen a day?"...hard to give anexact answer because even females of the same species vary in size...not thin...not fat...just pleasingly plump. Zachary's is too fat.

I think our locusts are different than your locusts. Some people call cicadas a locust but that's not really what they are. Our locust is a kind of grasshopper

That's right I'm in Jersey, Channel isles, the original one not New Jersey!
You don't feed locusts on your side? Or call them something else?
Nope, no locusts over here. Normally, I would recommend hornworms for hydration because that normally would help with impaction too. Can you find waxworms?

That's the same as ours then I guess! Hoppers I feed are about 35mm long
