Chameleon Info:
Chameleon - Panther, female, about 5 months old. Have had her for about 2 months
Handling - I handle her about every other day for a few minutes
Feeding - about 10-12 3/4" crickets in the morning, crickets are gut loaded with commercial cricket food and any fresh veggies i have around- usually carrots, sweet potatoes, leafy greens
Supplements - i dust them about every other day with calcium and D3
Watering - I mist with a spray bottle several times a day for about 20 seconds. I do see my chameleon drinking.
Fecal Description - looks normal. Has never been tested for parasites.
History - I purchased her in June from Screameleons

Cage Info:
Cage Type - Screen cage, 14x14x18 (i think)
Lighting - I am using a 100 watt basking light and a 5.0 UVB ReptiSun, turned on each morning around 8am and off at night around 9pm- not on a timer
Temperature - i have not measured the temps, but there are several different locations or distances from the heat for the cham to hang out
Humidity - not sure- have not measured, but I mist several times a day, and have live plants in the cage
Plants -i have a pothos and some sort of palm
Placement - cage is located in the corner of the living room, not in a high traffic area.
Location - Raleigh, NC

Current Problem - She has a different color right at the base of her tail, it is kinda white and a different color from the rest of her body. At first i thought she was getting ready to shed, but then i remembered that she just did about a week ago. She is about 5 months old- could she be getting ready to lay eggs already???? or does it have something to do with her mood???
She is behaving normal, open eys during the day, eating and drinking. I am cautious as this is my second chameleon, my first one was a wild caught and only lived in my care for about 5 months.
Thamks for any help or comments!

She is sleeping now- i will try to get a picture posted in the morning. I dont think it is retained shed. But I don't know why it looks so unusual.

Is the calcium with d3 the only supplement you use? Spraying several times for 20 secs is not long enough. I don't know if this relates to her present problem but you should be spraying till her viv is soaking three to four times a day.
What colour is her poo, both parts? You don't say what the temp is on her basking spot. Could it be a burn?

you cannot tell anything from your pic. It is too bright. Or atleast that is the way I see it. A white tail should have no bearing on whether she is going to lay eggs. Most likely it is shed but too hard to tell from the pictures.

but if she just shed about a week ago- isn't it too early for her to be getting ready to shed again?
I see her drinking a lot.
Her poo is gooey brown and then white
Sometimes the white area goes away, but then it comes back
Am i just being paranoid?

here is another pic - its the area just behind her back legs that is my concern- the white area?????

she looks like she has that coloring all over her body so maybe you are seeing something we don't cause the pic is not super high definition. I really would not worry so much!

My chameleon seems to have the same problem, except she's een a bit odd recently. She is eating and drinking but she isnt walking around, she stays in the same place almost all day and is rather dark (except for her tail)

I don't think it is a problem. Aesop had a very similar thing when he was younger, a pale patch right at the base of his tail, and the vet said not to worry about it. It's faded quite a bit after a few sheds. Better pics would be good though, just to make sure.

Mine has been doing it to but changes colors back I was wondering if it was normal as well she eats and appears to drink it won't in front of me sometimes I believe I've caught a glimpse of a drink being taken but the eyes don't appear to be sunk in
