Hi, I'm new here and new to Chameleon care. I have a 4.5 month old Ambilobe Panther Chameleon. He was in a 12" x 12" x 12" terrarium when I first got him as I awaited delivery of the final items for his permanent home.

Current Problem - He has a white spot on his right side, upper by his spine and slightly rearward. Concerned it may be a burn. It does seem to be shrinking a bit. Appeared 3 days ago. Three pictures of spot, one of him when I got him.

Does appear to be a burn. Young Panthers should be kept at 80-84* max. How far down from the bulb is his basking branch? Also no heat lamps at night at all. They need complete darkness and can take night time drops into the mid 50s.

It's about 8" down, temp sensor is on side of vine right where the basking spot is. I was debating on the night lamp, will turn it off going forward. Need a vet visit, or is there over the counter stuff I can use on him?

Thanks for your help

Pics are far too blurry to make any type of determination based on what's been provided.

You said your new, you sure its not shed?

Pretty sure it isn't a shed, only part of his body looking like this. Unless it is the end of a shed that started before I got him. Here are a couple better pics I hope.
