Here are a few pics of Winston. He runs the house off and on during the day. He knows the layout pretty well. When he wants outside, this is what I see!! Unfortunately the temps here the last couple days have only been in the low 60's. Poor baby!!!

Thanks!! I go out with him. He likes to sit on the deck railing and watch everyone!! I put the chams in the outdoor enclosure and bring him out and plop him on the deck!!

He doesn't try to take off on you? That's cool that you can let him out of the cage to explore, they must get bored without the chance to do that.

If that is the case, how can you stop him from chasing a little... mouse? Are his legs broken or something...?

I think my beardies are smarter than me sometimes. My male, Jahar, will sit in my lap and let me rub under his chin - just like a dog>>He is the sweetest thing! He also loves to go outside and sit on the picnic table and see the sights.

No, no broken legs. He has had no desire to move off of the deck when he's sunning. Sometimes he will move to different spots to get more sun or for shade, but that's it. The dogs are out in the yard and the kids and he is content to watch from his roost.

Hehe!! Yup. My husband made Winston a ladder and he comes and goes from his cage around the entire house during the day!! In the morning he warms up, has his breakfast and when he's warm enough, scratches at the door to come out!! It's a stitch!! He ususally makes his way to the back of the house by Yuri's room since he is notorious for letting his crickets escape!! Didn't take Winston long to figure out that the snacks are there!!! At least I found a way to get rid of the ferral crickets in my house!!!

Sorry!! I missed your post.....he LOVES running around!! He'll come over to see what we are doing!! He always shows up when I'm sorting supers or silks. He knows the bins. He watches and waits to see if I'm gonna drop any!! Of course there are always a couple that "fall"!!!!

He sounds awesome! I want to get a beardie too, for my son. :p That's my excuse, anyway.

I have two beardies and I just love them. In fact One of them is sitting on my lap while I type this...LOL! They love to be handled and I think are a great lizard for kids. They're just another part of the family :)

Absolutely they are!! It's like having another dog that doesn't shed or bark!!!! He's such a snuggler, I love it!!!! Hey Teresa, what ever excuse you need will be fine!!!!:D

My adult dragon is more of a wanderer lol. Goes everywhere and tries to eat anything that gets her interest. My baby beardie stayed on my arm for half an hour today without trying to dash off. I felt bad taking him off of me though =(. They really are great lizards to handle. I just wish my cham was more tolerant of me.

edit: LMAO Chad that pic reminds me of when I was playing xbox360 2 weeks ago and she grabbed the controller!

Omg, the cuteness! I'm still trying to talk hubby into it. He is worried we have so many pets that we can never go on vacation. I keep telling him, that's what the neighbor kids are for!

Besides, if we don't get one, what will we do with all the dubias too large for the chameleons? Maybe at the Sacramento show I can win him over :)

Great idea!!! Really though, he is my garbage can!!! Any bugs that are too big for my chams or the bugs they decide to boycott, he will always eat!!! It's so great, no wasting!!! They are just sooo fun!! Good luck!!

ha nice thread. yeah they are a great back up plan for disregarded feeders from the chams. my male cham ate one dubia and that was it for him. so little charlie stepped up to the plate and gobbles those nymphs like there is no tomorrow. oh and kingjulian the sacremento show will definetaly do the trick. i went to a show in pasadena not too long ago with the idea i was only going for supplies for the chams and sure enough i put one of my empty tanks to use and came home with charlie.
