When I was a young girl, I saw what must have been a veiled chamelon at an exotic pet store. That was probably in the early 1960's. I have always loved "critters" and had rabbits, guina pigs, lizards, turtles, torts, dogs, and every possible pocket pet imaginable.
I grew up, had my own home, got married, (husband not too keen on 'critters'), had a kid, got divorced, and decided that I could finally (some 40 years later!) have my chameleon.
I read books, studied on line, went to a reptile show, and bought my guy. "Dipped in Butter" (veiled, male, 6mo old) has been here since he was a tiny 2" little guy. He was so named because we figured that the dogs would like him served 'dipped in butter'.
