Ok, veiled girl-something weird is happening...

Thank you gman!
Well I took her out today for 3 hours. She looked sooo dehydrated I thought she can't do it any longer without water.
She saw me and turned a nice green, I tried to give her some water, she drank. Then I put my hand in it and she climbed up by herself. Then I brought her outside to the sun. We were out there for an hour. She crawled around the deck and up on my shoulder. Then I gave her a long mist and she ate 5 mealworms. I offered her phoenix worms and waxworms too, but the mealworm was her choice.
I add more water to the sand and digged out 11 eggs and she definitely has more, those are just bulging out of her belly. She tried to climb out for about 2 minutes and then went to sleep.I put her back in the bin but before that I digged a hole for her, as Jann does.
WHAT SHOULD I DO NOW?
HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE?
IS THIS NORMAL? WHY CAN'T SHE JUST DO IT AS ANY OTHER CHAMELEON?
DID IT HAPPENED TO ANYONE ELSE?
:confused::eek:

Thank you! That's what I was afraid of...I am trying to reach the vet.
But wouldn't she be weak and no moving and no appetite?

Now is the time for oxytocin to have the highest chance of success. Eggbound starts as just not being able to lay all the eggs. If it progresses to the weakness you're describing then the chances of survival are much reduced. You don't want her to get to that point. If oxytocin doesn't work she may need surgery to remove the rest and spay her at the same time so you don't have to deal with this again! If you do have to consider surgery you want her to be as healthy as possible because the sicker she is the higher the risk of complications, which can lead to death.

We got an appointment to the vet today. After she got the oxytocin, I put her back in her bin and will waiting for the miracle.
I thought about getting her spayed but nobody risks it here in this town. The closest is Calgary or Vancouver, on an airplane...Will see.

She got the oxytocin shot and another fluid under the skin for her dehydration.
She is back in her bin and I'm just waiting....

Oh really? Several shots? Oh my poor girl....
One a day for how many days usually?
Thank you Jann!

She is still in the bin,but wants to come out....It brakes my heart when she looks at me...
She ate yesterday again but no digging at all...She might needs another oxytocin shot.

Poor girl! I hope she lays and stays healthy for u! U seem to be doing a great job with her. If Jann says more oxytocin I'd look into it, I've read her posts and she knows what's goin on

One every 6 hours is what my vet recommends for 3 to 4 doses and then if they don't lay he recommends surgery. He normally does a higher dose that normal because oxytocin does not always work well on reptiles.

Sorry I can't help more but I have not had this problem so it is above what I no I really hope it works out for u

Then I think we are running out of time...
I'll call the vet again if she had time again.
When I get home I'd like to put her back in her small enclosure, 'cause I don't want her to fall big if she is too weak to hold on to the branch...i will take out the bottom and place it on the big laying bin. She keeps want to come out, maybe she will feel more comfortable.

She got the second shot tonight and will get the third tomorrow morning.
I hate to do this to her but she has to lay them....
She ate 4 worms again and drank some water.
As I said: SHE IS MY HERO! I love her so much....

Still nothing....
She drinks and eats so far though.
I know she should have the surgery, but no vet risks it here. The next one is in Calgary.
She is still in the bucket, and I feel sooooo bad. I will take her out today and put her back in her small enclosure. I feel totally hopeless and sooo sad.:(

After 4 oxytocin shots nothing....
I am living in hell and I think so does she. Drinks, not really eats since Friday.. But I force fed her today: just opened her mouth and put the worms in and she ate them.
WHY DID SHE STOP LAYING AFTER 11 EGGS? She covered the hole she digged like everything is fine and that's it. She has more than 15 eggs inside of her.
The vet here doesn't do surgery on these fragile creatures. But I'm not sure she would survive a surgery.
Do you think I should try to put her back in the bin? Is it possible that she lays them now?
She spent a whole week in the bin and she layed the eggs in the first 2 days. I took her out on Friday and put her back in her small enclosure, 'cause I'm afraid she would fall big in the big enclosure.
Any suggestions? I feel sooo bad for her,she was such a healthy girl 1,5 week ago. I am rather an overworried mom, I can see it now how healthy she was before.
I'm just out of ideas...
