Is it me or would a site with current Veils and Panthers be of value? I keep seeing a lot of cool looking juvenile chameleons only to then see they're available for homes 06-2010 for example. Searching all the multiple vendors and half done websites is taxing too. I'd just prefer a picture, a buy button and then a chameleon at my doorstep.:)

lol?

i dont post alot, i read alot.

still dont get your point in your OP......there are different businesses that sell chams obviously they would have dif websites. And nobody really makes that much money doing this so none of them are exactly super-pro expensive websites...

but as per your final point, i actually disagree. I think it should be harder and harder to buy animals, it should not be "a pic, a click, and a cham at my doorstep" thats exactly what leads to impulse shoppers and neglected animals.

I'm all for it taking dedication to find one because it takes a lot more to take care of one.

I agree......Its just soooo hard to sit here at the computer clicking on different descriptions and going to all the websites. Here I could be actually watching TV or better yet getting some more sleep in my day....
I feel your pain, my clicking finger is so worn out.......Buy Now buttons sounds good to me!!! OH WAIT!! A number of sites DO have a Buy Now button!!

God help you if you still had to get a mag. or newspaper and search the pet section or "GASP" go to a pet store like in the "olden" days to get a pet!!

Couldn't you just PM chamtrainer, he knows were to buy 7month olds that are full grown and colored up you don't even have to wait and see what color they will be !!!!!

Yea but the place where he got his has an "Add To Cart" button......he's looking for a "Buy It Now" button. So much easier to use.....

To many steps in buying a Cham. will tax him to much....needs to save his energy....

How about a toll free phone # just tell em what you what and they deliver it

I agree with one point the OP was making. It would be nice if the breeders would update their sites more often. Its frustrating to read a paragraph look at pics and then read that the cham your interested in was actually bred a year ago and has been sold long ago. Thats my pet peeve actually. If your gonna go to the expense & time to build a website keep it current.

hi Picasso,

I see two problems here that you may not understand.

the first problem is that you see animals up for sale at a later date...

this is normal for this pet industry. it lets people like you or I know when an animal will be ready for sale (ie: old enough to ship, or old enough for most keepers to care for the animal in question). it also alows you the buyer to to contact the seller to ask questions and maybe place a deposit to have it held for you once it is ready.
if this is not done, most small time breeders may not be able to sell all or most of the babies, thus less in the future will be offered to potential buyers like yourself. it's a win, win situation for everyone.

next, to have a one stop shop for ALL potential Chameleon pets hurts not only the buyer, but the sellers.
on top of all the problems I can see such as missed shipping dates, shipment of wrong animals, and let's not even get into the sale of unhealthy animals...who is going to pay for such a website? you? me? all of us?
what you are asking for is to have the price of an animal go up in costs for no gain whats so ever...well, other then convienance because it hurts so much to click a mouse button a few times.

I'm in no way making fun of your idea. it would be nice if buying an animal was as easy as some one click shopping. but if this is such a good idea, why isn't the rest of on-line shopping like this? why can't I click just one website and buy a TV from it? wouldn't Best buy and Walmart and all the rest save so much money if you didn't have to shop at their on-line store?
sorry, but they would loose tons of money.

let me end this by saying that the last "new" car I bought was done in my livingroom in my underware.
online shopping has made this happen and it was so easy. I even got the lowest price I could get after dealing with too many "brick and morter" dealerships.
I still had to pick up the car from a dealership, but the paperwork was already filled out and I was driving my car in about 30 mins after I showed up. maybe not even that long.

I hope that helped,
Harry

why dont you just look in the classiefied here, on fauna, or kingsnake...they udpate those before their sites so more people will see them...this also makes the supply go faster bc these sites get more traffic than breeders websites

but they don't have a "buy it now" button. :p
so an email exchange and or a few phone calls are needed. it seems that this is what the OP does NOT want to deal with.

i actually prefer the so called "hassle" of getting a chameleon because i feel it shows how much the breeders care to where their chams end up, not just "anyone" getting one. I feel people who are selling should at least get to know a little of who they are deliverying their chams too.

the "buy it now" is a pathetic attempt to not deal with any proper communicatiing and understanding IMO. their should be a hassle/patience of gettig any animal.

I think what I was really going for was one site to see what everyone had available that was also up to date. I only thought to allow buying it then an there as an advantage. The point was to see everything out there at once. Breeders should kinda be screening the new comers and helping them anyways.
