We had a panther egg hatch early this morning. My boyfriend had to help the little guy get out of his egg because the egg shrunk too much around him and he wasnt going to make it. But he or she, is doing great running around his new enclosure! Its been a couple hours now and he still hasnt ate any of his pinhead crickets and I was wondering if there was anything I could do about that or he will just eat when hes ready? Will post pictures soon! Also any advice about neonates would be amazing!

Will eat after he absorbs his yolk. May be from 2-7 days. Usually around 4-5 days. I have better luck with them first feeding on hydei than crix. Once feeding response is triggered, they will hunt crix. The flies will climb and be seen more easily, as crix usually stay on cage bottom. Make sure enclosure isn't too large. They need to find food 4-5 times a day.

Its going on day 4 and he still shows no interest in the fruit flies, he almost seems scared of them when they come near him

Look for little poos. You may not always seem the eat. It can take up to 8 days for some. I like to mix some hydei and crix. The constant movement from the hydei will encourage him to eat, while keeping the crix moving a little extra. Keep a small piece of fruit and/or bug burger in the cage for the prey to eat. Make sure your cage is not too large or overpopulated with plants. You want your cham to easily spot their food. I feed my little ones usually 4-5 times a day. Always having food available at 7am in there when lights come on. ALL my ambilobes eat the very second the lights come on. Usually by 7:30 they are done.
