OOPS - wine for my FF - NOT for my crickets

welllll this is a great way to control the "wild" fruit flies that get into the feeder bins, and the house - I keep a 1/4 full bottle of wine in there , and a few here and there - it catches just about 100 % of the flies and nats - I am getting ready to get in another 1000 crix- so I thought I would clean the other bin that had the old crix too - I did not mess w/ it to much, and just stuck the wine back in there- but, I did not put it far enough away from the egg crates - lol - the crix also seem to enjoy wine :p what a way to die ;) I just use a little paper funnel on the neck of the bottle - I think I will change it to a screen :cool:

Between that and catch a Ferdinand. Wasn't sure which to go with. I can picture him, stuck in the bottle trying to get in or out. Tail wiggling. :)

Using bacon will guarantee 100% a Trace in your trap. :D (you'd probably eat the bacon while setting the trap. 'Honey, can you run out and kill another hog. I ate all the bacon setting a trap for Trace. Thanks sweetie.' :eek:

why yes, a peppy little vintage from the warehouses of Ganns - the vintage Acheta domesticusge is know for its lovely texture, and STANK when it is not kept properly :p come on over and have a bit :p
 
LOL!! Being a child of the 60's, I've had my share of adventures through the
looking glass as well :)

I could think of worse combo's; like maybe, shrooms and spitting cobra's :eek:

When I got into cobras, gaboons, copperheads, cottonmouths, caimans, etc... I was very strict with myself. Even had a seperate room for them. It was my first experience with being responsible. I am happy to report, no incidents. One night in SC visiting my son's mom's family, we had to stay the night with someone who kept rattlesnakes. I woke them up at midnight and we went to motel. I don't trust anyone else at keeping them other than myself. Afterall, my kid was at stake. :) (Was really never a fungus guy, didn't like the constant. I liked the rise to peak and done with paper and sugarcubes.)

Yep, I would have a separate room for them too, in say, Oklahoma!!

Still haven't had much experience being responsible, what's it like?? :confused:

Oh yes, those little dots of paper with cute pictures of "Mr Natural" on them!

It's a wonder I can still do high math (on my fingers, of course) ;)

PS, good for you, I would have done the same, get out of the rattlesnake house!!!!!

Serious about anything pertaining to child, driving and ethical choices involving others. Other than that, cheap jokes ALL day long. That's problem with this site: you can't hear the tone of what someone is saying. You have to guess, are they serious? I just tell most people, if I have a problem, you'll be the first to know. (Or you tell by the four letter words every other word :eek:)

That is the trouble, just when you think someone understands you, and you enjoy posting back and forth, we cant see each other. If we could, we would know.
What you said was not lost on me, and I didn't think you would think it was.

I screwed this one up, and now you probably think I'm an insensitive jerk.

Maybe I just shouldn't post any more
 
once when I was like 14, I almost got a venomous snake, but the guy told me i had to NEVER take it out of the tank - what kind of idiot would sell a kid a venomous snake- I knew me , and I knew that was something someday I would try - I decided not to get the snake - glad I had more smarts at 14 than the guy who was going to sell it to me - but I have always be fascinated by the venomous vipers , especially the gaboon - and those odd little horns they have - lol
