Darci and I decided to do what all the cool kids are doing these days and make a free range for our mellers chameleon. Since we have a nice sized bathroom in our new reptile shack that was looking way to plane and white we decided that it would be a good place to put it. I started out by mounting 4 reptisun bulbs to the ceiling and a nice big stick that we got from the NARBC auction on the wall, after that we added a few fans for some air circulation and a few branches, rope and a few plants. Darci hung up some Tiki masks for good measure, and to add our theme to the whole project. We still have to work in our misting system, another basking light, some more plants, rope and sticks. We are also going to work on a tortoise habitat under the misting area to collect the water which will water the live grass that we are going to place inside. Still a work in progress but it should be ready for use some time after the show next week. We have to pick up some more sticks.
Installing the lights; changed out the permanent fixture to CF bulbs.
A fan to move the air around a bit, a second one was added facing horizontal, the chameleons will not be able to climb in the area on the fans.
Darci labeling the door with our mellers name. Melanie...
Securing some of the cords, a simple power strip with a timer will work for the lights.
A progress shot.
More wiring.
Attaching another piece of wood to the wall.
Darci working the hammer.
Freshly installed mask.
More progress.
Another mask install.
