We have recieved our Chameleons today, and I'm so excited! We received them from a different location then origionally planned, but we now have 4 absolutely sweet chameleon babies:) They are in a temporary cage for the next day or so, until we finish the cage we are building. I'm looking foward to them being in a more natural habitat. I will post pic's of their new home as soon as we finish. I'm just so happy they are here, and I wanted to share some pictures:)

Awww! Baby chams are way too cute, lol! You mention building a cage for them. They will need a cage each - chameleons cannot be housed together once they get a bit older. It's ok while they are small, but as adults there will be a huge amount of stress on them - each animal needs it's own space. That's why I only have two, lol! If they could live in pairs or trios I would have loads and loads of chameleons!

Yes-you will eventually-and that means when they are 3-4 months old-need 4 separate cages. They cannot be housed together. Of course this means 4 sets of UVB and basking lights, etc...

Ooo four names to think up :D

They look lovely, hopefully you will have four nice personalities there :D

Keep us posted on them!

Good Luck! I bet you're gonna have lots of fun with those guys! A lot of room taken up too! :D

Thanks everyone! We are building one very large cage, and putting up walls to divide it into four seperate homes. We're debating on the best material to use for the dividers at this point. And we hit the jackpot with lighting etc..a chameleon business that was closing sold us a bunch of needed equipment at a great price:) I'm very excited, and I know I've found a great place for any questions I'll be having:) Thanks for everyone's kind comments on my sweet little ones! I'll be posting pic's and updating often, I'm really proud of them.

We have two females and two males...that's what we we're told from the seller. I'm still trying to study their differences, but I don't want to bother them. I felt so bad for them, having to be shipped. They must have been freaked out. But they seem to be doing well at this point. Their colors seem bright, and they are eating.

Remember-UVB lighting must be changed out every 6 months-so if you are not sure how old those lights are it is best to get new ones.

They look good. If you didn't know, males have small spurs on the back of the hind feet where females don't. Of course as they get older they will start to show male and female colors.

What kind of UVB lighting did you get?
