Outside housing?

Brand new panther momma here!
I found my panther chameleon on the side of the road so for the past couple days, we've been letting him roam on our porch to get a little adjusted while we get him a setup going.
We're in the process of building him a cage outside.
I live in Central Florida so right now, the temperatures are perfect for him. Our porch is like a Florida room, filled with big Windows and screens for him to climb and get sun.
I haven't been able to find much about what to do when housing them outside.
I plan on misting him twice a day with a dripper.
My main concern is what should I do when winter comes?
Should I get a lamp for the winter or make him an inside setup?
I realize this sounds a little like I'm rambling, I'm just trying to get in all the details while asking all my questions lol.

I live in southern california so we do leave ours outside but when it gets cooler just keep an indoor cage because they need like 80 degree weather

I keep them outside, come november they come back in, we have artificial light and heat for them, you just cant beat the sun

I live on long island and I just brought my veilds in for the season , though they might go out for a while if we get some 70 degree sunny days . my quads are still out until the night temps are below 45 , which is supposed to happen tonight . but they will go back out when the nights warm up in a few days .

That is a strange find on the side of the road. It could be someone's pet that got away. We have many members on here who lose chameleons outside. Have you thought about putting an ad on craigslist or some signs?. The reason I say this, is because if I lost my panther I would be sick, as many of the other members have been when their chameleon went missing. i would just hope someone would do that for me if they found mine. Anyways, that is up to you. So getting back to the housing outiside. I live in south Florida in the Palm Beach area. Ourt temps are a little warmer than yours. My chameleons pretty much stay out year round. However, in the summer months if I see them having any heat stress, I will bring them in. If I am not going to be home all day, I keep them in. If it gets below 50 I bring them in. If it is going to be a bad storm, I bring them in. I have an indoor cage for each. I only keep two chameleons at a tiime cause that is all I am equipped for. I do know others, (and a breeder that lives very nearby to me), who keeps his out all year long. As long as you provide shade and plenty of water he should be fine. We have wild veild and oustlet populations down here and they are thriving outside. Panthers and Veilds and pretty much kept the same.

Try to put up signs, I know that it was the owners mistake for losing the cham, but they might still be looking for it. Who knows, maybe they will let you have the chameleon when they find out you have been trying so hard to give it a good home, I know I would.

There's a breeder nearby that I have a feeling let the chams loose. When I went to PetSmart to buy some calcium, the worker told me I definitely wasn't the first person she heard finding Panthers on the side of the road. I've been keeping a lookout to see if anyone lost him, but if I do find out if it was the breeder I planned on buying one from them anyway. I'm assuming it's a he, but he's still a juvenile so I haven't been able to tell yet.

I live in Canada. I wasn't implying that the chameleon was mine, just that someone might be looking for it ^^
