Jann, I really have no words!! I am just so very sorry and am happy to lend support an any way I can. My heart is breaking for you :(

oh I am so very very sorry to learn this.

I feel awful for you. I wish there was something I could say to help, but know that there isnt
you have my sincere sympanthy.

Jan time heals .I've had my own cham loss recently and it only gets better with time .sorry for your loss .

It's nearly 2am, I happen to be at a local hospital with my 8 yr old who suffered a compound fracture to his left arm. Despite that I was thing of you and Padre Jan. In 1996 I lost my male Parson's to a long term illness. He had actually had all his teeth removed over time due to a necrotizing infection of his jawbone.

When he passed, words honestly can't describe the loss I felt. Despite me having that very first hand understanding I know that right now at this moment words have little meaning or warmth. In time I do hope you read all the wonderful posts of support and take some comfort from them.

If you need somebody to chat with, I do understand the loss of such a incredible companion. It was the real reason why I stepped away from my passion of chams for some years. My wife and Chris Anderson nudged me back. Don't walk away like I did. Hang in there. You have a huge amount of support here.

i am just stunned......Padre was such a part of the Forums, he could have had his own honorary membership!

what an awful disease situation.....i never met a fistula that i was happy to meet, they all stink. without knowing all of the details, i would like to at least say two things-

-if i could pick any vet in the entire world to work on my reptiles, it would be Doug Mader, DVM. he is beyond......virtually everyone.

-and i am grateful that the choice to euthanize was apparently made under anesthesia, so he did not have to suffer or die from the fistula itself. had a bacterial infection set up shop and went straight to his heart, it would have been that much more painful for everyone, certainly including him. there is something to be said for slipping away painlessly and quietly when it is time to go.....

my deepest condolences.

Jann I am so sad and heartbroken to read this. Losing a pet is just as bad as losing a family member and I know you will mourn him the same :(

Now Padre walks into the light,
having had his final fight,
mourn not the sight of his pretty face,
because now he's in his resting place,
no more suffering no more pain,
just basking in the sun and drinking the rain,
in chameleon heaven he now stays,
knowing you love him still in so many ways.

RIP Padre, you were so beutiful and a joy to all who knew you :( xxxxxx

Ang. That is so beautiful I'm crying.

Thank you all for all of the post about Padre. I will throughly read them all just as soon as I can. I also plan to put up a tribute to him in the Memorial section when I can. I am devastated and still in shock. I never dreamed it was so serious and that I'd be bringing him home in a box. I have photos of the surgery that I will post and give you all more details on the surgery just as soon as I'm up to it.

Thanks again everyone for being here for me.

Awww, I just checked this thread to see how Padre's surgery went, and I am absolutly stunned to find out that this happened!!
I am so, so sorry :(

Your Padre was one of the high-lights of this forum, and I have enjoyed reading your posts and seeing pics of him.

This is just so sad
