Pitcard

Just had a quick question that I couldn't find through the search function.

I have an Ambilobe male and what I was told is a Nosy Be female for him. I've heard previously that when bred, only the male's colours will come through on the babies.

Experienced breeders, do you find this to be true? I apologize for the noobish question, but I'd like to have this cleared up. Thank you

No, it is not true! If it were true, we wouldn't be able to tell when different locales are bred to each other. And we've certainly seen plenty of that in the past.

Very true, and thanks for the response.

Is there anything detailing the different hybrids created by mixing locales?

There's no definitive answer, unless you know the parents background., for those familiar with most locales a reasonable guess is all that can be offered. When crossing locales a few of the offspring may look like the sire, a few like the dam's genetic background, most will be somewhere in between.
