Panther locales and prices...

I have been looking into getting some panther chams but price ranges are on both sides of the scale.. What is a fair price for a panther? Maybe a nosy be??? Does price vary by locale??

Ambilobe - Male: $300-$450 Female: $200-$400
Ambanja - Male: $200-$450 Female: $150-$400
Nosy Be - Male: $250-$450 Female: $200-$400
Nosy Faly - Male: $250-$450 Female: $200-$400

These were just some common locales. All prices are just estimated--there is no guarantee that all specimens are within the price range.

Why are they so expensive? I can't even find any panther's around me, and I definitely don't feel too comfortable shelling out $300+ and not know if it will be healthy let alone if I'll actually receive them.

Because the market has been set and we're willing to pay it. Breeders spend lots of money and time to bring us these wonderful creatures! :)

Not to mention unless there is an established by a breeder, the only way to get these guys is to import them from Madagascar...lol :D There colors also up the price a bit considering they are extremely unique in the world of chameleons.

There are breeders that you can get a Quality baby male panther for way under 300 delevered to your door with a health guarentee. Just click on my signature lol Really just watch the forums classified, there are lots of small breeders that have what your looking for. Good luck with your quest. I dont currently have any nosybes available. just ambilobes untill next year.

Curt I couldn't agree more. There are a ton of breeders on our site sponsors not to mention members who breed themselves that are awesome with their panthers. But the classifieds in my opinion are the way to go as far as purchasing a chameleon. A lot of the breeders and forum members will give you a good deal if you just ask, the worst they say is "No I would like to get more" it may take some asking around but you will find a deal you are looking for.

Before you purchase anything just browse around, you will find many breeders with amazing stock for sale, they are highly respected and offer very healthy robust animals for a very reasonable price. One perfect example is Jim at the chameleon company, who routinely sells chams starting as low as $150. Good luck in your search!

Most common locales start at $200, which includes Ambilobes, Ambanjas, and Nosy bes, to name a few. $200-300 is normal for a typical baby at about 2-4 months old, and the price will go up the older they are.

Like someone mentioned you can find some for less from reputable breeders, like the Chameleon Company, but that usually takes more patience to wait for panthers to become available, since they may not always be available. Where as if 6 breeders are offering babies for $250, you are more likely to get one whenever you want.
