Panther Prowling

Is anyone as surprised as I am as to how active your panther chameleon is? All 3 of mine seem to enjoy trucking around their cages during the day time, hungry or no.
Also, as a newbie, it's eye opening to realize how much time I now spend on their upkeep and care. I AM NOT complaining about this at all. Part of the problem with the time I spend on the cages is that I'm a floral designer. Redoing their cage decor once a week, after a really good cleaning, is not a hardship to me.
I really do enjoy these wonderful creatures.

Well, although i don't have a panther, I am very surprised at how active my kinyongia multituberculata is. He is (literally)all over place! It really goes to show how much the size of your enclosure matters. They really do make use of every inch you give them.

I will have to aggree and say it is really enjoyable compaired to my more lazy R.l.Leachianus. Which only come out at night to attack, crap down the front glass of their enclosure and terrorize, lol.

How does your cham react to the constant design changes? I was always under the impression chams are lame in that they hate change. I know when I add a vine or replace a stick, my cham doesn't like it one bit

Yeah the chameleons really dont like change BUT everyone kind of over exaggerates on how easily stressed they are without considering the personality of the chameleon, my oldest chameleon likes a bit of stimulus and prefers i add something new every few weeks, as opposed to my 3 month old he HATES! changes and prefers that i leave him the hell alone. If your chameleon seems to not mind change you should go right ahead and add something every few weeks like i do.

They don't seem to mind the change. I do one cage at a time, letting the cham roam around outside on a palm tree. They usually find a place to bask and stay there. It's more stressful to me to keep an eye on them while I'm cleaning!

My chams come out of their cages willingly. I try to handle them daily, depending on how whether they seem receptive to it or not. Today I had a hard time getting them OFF of me and into their cages!

Yea Clyde has no problem coming out of the cage, i feel he loves getting out, i'll put him on the couch and he just goes non stop.lol
I also dont see him minding the change in the cage he seems to explore more.
