Parasite ID???

haha, is there a particular brand you would recommend using for the steam cleaner? i am shopping online right now and am reading alot of bad reviews!

i just bought the 30 bucks one at "Linens and things" store (it went bankrupt. So, I got it on sale).
I'm sure there is a good one... but, I haven't had time to research it.

you want to make sure that you spray the vine real close to the nozzle.
Otherwise, you're just spraying cold vapor.

Howdy Andrew,

(Just back from a looong workday :(.)

There was a nice thread about parasites a couple of months ago (https://www.chameleonforums.com/parasites-bleach-waste-drain-13245/#post108405) where hydrogen peroxide at 6% (which is double the typical drug store strength) left in contact with for ~10 minutes or so will totally kill-off Cryptosporidium parvum Oocysts (in the coccidia family) (http://aem.asm.org/cgi/content/full/68/5/2576). I found it at hair salon supply stores :)! It is used as part of the treatment process for changing hair coloring etc.

Notes: Hydrogen peroxide suppliers use a strength term call "volume".

3%=10 volume
6%=20 volume**
9%=30 volume
12%=40 volume
15%=50 volume

The price doesn't vary proportionally to its strength.

I found a gallon of 6% at about $7. They were out of the stronger ones in gallons but it was probably a $1 or 2 more to get it at double or more in strength. Be careful handling the sronger ones.

(Past my bedtime )

Hey Dave, sorry to hear about your long hours, i just worked one too. 12hrs today . blehhhh....

Thanks for the advice, I am going to redo her whole enclosure with steam clean and everything and dump the hibiscus flower this weekend, so i will be sure to pick up some of that peroxide.
