Ok so i wana know all the info, because i am curious. Every one is talking about Parson's and how dificult, yet beautiful they are. I have been readin about them for a couple days now and i can tell there is a lot of variation to what people say about them and how to care for them. I dont plan on havin one myself for MANY MANY years, but what is the essentials? Basically take the list that people are supposed to fill out to help pros identify problems and let me know, im pretty sure there will be a good amount of variation from person to person.

I agree there is not much essential information in that article as far as caring for Parson's. I think there has been plenty of new info over the last few years. I can send you some info if you like. I will say this, find a good herp vet before you would even consider getting one. They are in my opinion prone to more mouth problems than any chameleons I have ever worked with. Most are wild caught that come in with a host of problems. I have spent a small fortune keeping mine healthy. Luckily I have a very good vet I work with and I have no problem traveling 3.5 hours to see him.

The extra info sounds great, id love to study up on them. I dont plan on getting them n e time soon, i am just curious. I thought people cant ship them out wild caught, i thought they need to be captive bred to be sold and shipped???

Should they be, are they "supposed" to be? Yes. Is that always the case, not so much.

You are correct, but as I said, this is normally not the case. If you do a lot more reading on this species you will understand where I am going with this.

Ok i though you misunderstood me, But i misunderstood you! lol Yeah thats why i made this thread i want to learn all the ins and outs for these fabulous and spetacular chameleons. :)

Does any one have a caresheet for parsons? i heard alot and all the information varies for one person to the next. What is the most accurate temperature, housing dimensions, environments, humidity............etc?

How about buy some books for example the Necas ?
I think nobody here will write a complete care sheet for them just for fun. Look up where they live (exactly ! not just madagascar) google the climate which they have there and so on...

Ok sounds good, i read a coupld books in reptile stores and it doesnt really go into depth about Parson's  but n e way that helps if it is a specific book so thank you. :)

No i mean i thought it was illegal for them to be shipped out of the country they live in if they are wild caught, they need to be captive bred, or am i wrong?

You are opening a can of worms that not even the big guys on this forum agree on. Do a search on parsons and you will find the thread where they are discussed.

the Necas isn't a scientific book - but it's probably the best for hobby keepers. Those typical books in reptile stores and pet shops are often not the ink worth with which they are printed. Always pictures, pictures and more pictures but no interesting texts. I think the CiN journals are the highest quality anglophone chameleon literature

One thing to keep in mind... Most keepers of Parsoni don't like to talk about it. They are an underground group that communicate with one another, and even some don't do that. If you have Parsoni you are at risk of being raided and having your animals taken away. Since they can't be imported and not EVERY animal has papers..... if someone reported a keeper they would have a hard time fighting the legitimacy of their animals.

A lot of keepers just keep on keeping. If they do speak up, they'll never tell you where they live lol. :D

It enlarges also the risk to be victim of a burglary

oh yes! especially those who try to be as natural with the parsoni as they can.... keeping them outside.

If I owned them I would move... lol so that those who know where I live wouldn't know anymore LOL I piss off too many people to be owning extremely valuable animals and have a blip on the radar :D

You shouldn't joke about this in Germany there were two "big" burglarys in the last year, geckos for thousands of € were stolen !
