Parson's Chameleons!!!!

One thing to keep in mind... Most keepers of Parsoni don't like to talk about it. They are an underground group that communicate with one another, and even some don't do that. If you have Parsoni you are at risk of being raided and having your animals taken away. Since they can't be imported and not EVERY animal has papers..... if someone reported a keeper they would have a hard time fighting the legitimacy of their animals.

A lot of keepers just keep on keeping. If they do speak up, they'll never tell you where they live lol. :D

OIC! I never though about it that way!!!!! so basically you have to have papers from the person you bought them from stating they are captive bred?! very interesting. thats kind of g@y that people have to worry about their pets because they are so elogant and beautiful!

No, it's just because they are so rare and expensive ! If you could buy them in every story for 50$ like calyptratus nobody would steal them

Yeah, but having to hide where you live and not talking about it kind of sucks! If i ever get one it would have to be WAY in the future to where they aren't as rare so i dont need to worry about theft or n e thing.

Well 15 years ago it was that way. You could buy them for $50, that was the problem. Too many of them being imported to often caused major loss in numbers in the wild.

Wow i didnt know that?! thats kind of funny that they went for 50 Bux 15 years ago and now they are going for $2500!!!!!!

These are some pretty Sweet Chams though! The lack of availability and the difficulty, of keeping and breeding them draws certain justice to the price! As It would be very unfavorable to the animal if the price was lower with just anyone thinking they were cool, could pick them up for Say, $50 bucks.
Thats the problem of the past as so many came here and died, due to low price per animal & inexperience!
Possibly some day Breeding success comes through with the ones that keep here today. But I feel the Price should remain high, to keep them a highly prized Chameleon, for not just a Petsmart or any other simular vendor, to be passed through to untrained shoppers buying the pet on a whim!----Unfortunatly as happens with the lesser Chams species to date. Its sad as I see all Chams prized or unprized just as equal and fun. Parsons or Jacksons? They are all prized and special each for their own right to ME!!!

You are definately right in some essence. The should not really be weighed by the availability, because all these creatures are AMAZING! but at the same time there is a reason why veiled babies are 40 and panther babies are 175-300. Idk this whole information search for me to learn about Parson's seems to keep getting more and more complicated. I was just trying to research them because i have research a VAST amount of chams so i can know about the ins and outs of all species, but i might be stumped with this one!

I can't imagine its a good idea to tell the internet where you live regardless of how valuable your animal collection is haha. A few local people know where my Apt. complex is but only a couple have been to my Apt. I don't think I am at high risk but I don't like to share it publicly.

Edit: I don't have Parsoni....

Lol but when you post your full name and the city you live in all some one needs is the phone book to know where you live, along with internet sources and was previously stated.

I always thought parsons look like the wise forefathers of chameleons. They have an aged look about them.
