Pet store Chameleons in bad shape

Anyone else ever encounter horribly healthed chameleons in pet stores? I have a local one I go to for food and such and the 4 they have there all seem like they are on the verge of dying. No UVB light, all dehydrated and all seem like the have bad cases of MBD. Everytime I walk in there I have to accept the fact that there isn't much I can do about it but walk in there everyday and watch them get worse. It's a horrible feeling

Any similar experiences?

We have heard these stories time after time after time. You just can't save them all, especially since they are usually beyond saving if the pet stores haven't a clue.

Yeah, they don't dust their crickets with anything an actually told me that I don't need to, it's like heartbreaking

I would tell them you are a member on here and try and get them to change their set ups. They can only say no I guess. that is why I don't go into the pet stores that carry chameleons anymore. I tried to get this one store to change and told them they were doing everything wrong. They have since went out of business Every time I would go in there the little babies all had their eyes closed clinging to their branches. I am glad that they finally closed.

Yup, all eyes closed and one can barley walk, I guess I could try but these people aren't the kind of people that are going to change, my only hope is that when these finally pass, they won't buy anymore. If they get a new Jackson's I might try and pick it up before it gets too sick

yeah i just got my gurl alexa from one shes about 6-7 months old she has MBD but its not very severe she's still got a realy good grip, they only had a basking light on her! & had a water dish in her small glass tank, with no dripper.. i'm giving her repta aid right now and trying to prevent it from getting worse.. she's so pretty too, she seems to be getting better i've had her for about 4 days now.. its sad

i havent bought much from them, they have the actualy calcium without d3 they gave me a sample, but they just dont use it.... so sad. I have only bought a fake plant that went well with the cage and crickets because they have good sizes and im only doing that until i start keeping my own

if you havent started yet seriously get ur crix online 1000 for around 15 dollars. all sizes. i doubt those ppl gut load at all.
